LIZ OLIVER

Liz has been a dedicated student of yoga since her early teens, exploring practices across a wide range of styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Anusara, and Yin. Her journey has taken her to studios in Michigan, California, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Amsterdam, New Zealand, and Spain. Deeply drawn to the traditions of Hatha Yoga and Anusara, her personal practice has been profoundly shaped by an in-depth study of postural alignment and anatomy.

With a lifelong background in athletics and a BA in Sport Management from the University of Michigan, Liz brings both physical awareness and curiosity and playfulness to her classes. She creates space for students of all ages to explore their breath, build confidence, and deepen their relationship with their bodies.

In 2016, Liz completed her 200-hour teacher training at Happy U Namaste in San Diego, CA. She went on to expand her expertise with an 85-hour Prenatal Yoga certification from the ChildLight Education Company in 2020. Later that same year, she became the owner of Island Heron Yoga in Jamestown, RI, where she taught regular Hatha classes and launched a prenatal and postpartum program. Now, Liz and her family are based in beautiful Northern Michigan where she teaches studio and private classes and events.
